About the Foundation

The Penn-Trafford Community Education Foundation is in its beginning stages.  It is led by a volunteer board of directors and supported by committees made up of educators, parents, and community members who recognize the need to enhance the public education of our children by raising private funds.

Our goal is to provide resources to improve the education effort through focused initiatives such as the following:

  • Fostering excellence in teaching through Classroom Grants for Teachers.

  • Augmenting the core academic curriculum by providing funds for innovative technology, programs to support instruction, and safety of our students.

  • Promoting a balanced education by funding Art, Music, and Drama programs, as well as beautification efforts in our school buildings.

  • Supporting after school sports, physical education, and student social activities.

  • Improving parent, family and community involvement in our schools.

  • Supporting capital improvements such as upgrading library facilities to create media centers, building outdoor classrooms, and Weather Bug stations.

  • Funding innovative programs for students such as adventure-based courses, attending Space Camps, internships, and early foreign-language instruction.
